Grande Distillerie E. Cusenier Fils Ainé & Cie. Certificat d'Action F 500. Paris, 28. Mars 1949. Nr. 4'406. A magnificent and rare share of this famous French Distillery founded by Eugene Cusenier in 1874. It was taken over by Pernod Ricard in 1977. Eugene Cusenier was born in 1832 in Etalans (Pontarlier). He soon left his home to learn the craft of Distillery. In 1856, he built his own distillery in Ornans (Doubs). A location well chosen for its fruit and cherry production. Business developed very well. Soon Cusenier opened in Paris, first a sales store, followed in 1871 by a large new distillery. His speciality was kirsch and absinthe. At that time absinthe had a reputation of being very unhealthy. Cusenier found a new distillery method in adding oxygen, his 'Absinthe Cusenier Oxygenee'. The advertising campaign 'L'Absinthe Cusenier Oxygenee - C'est ma sante' became famous. Soon Cusenier opened new distilleries all over France, 1872 in Charenton, 1877 in Marseille, 1882 in Mulhouse and 1890 even in Buenos Aires. In the year 1894 Eugene Cusenier died. Illustrations of the absinthe production with the famous 'fée verte' and production sites in Paris, Charenton, Marseille, Bruxelles, Cognac and Mulhouse. VF.
