1797, May 11. Entire letter from Valparaiso to Santiago, bearing neat "Balparaiso" straight-line handstamp in black, with manuscript "1" real paying the maritime rate. One of the only three items known with this postmark, this being the earliest. SFC 48-4. Ex Marticorena and Blank.
