1921, Oct. Large envelope from Bogotá to New York, flown from origin to Barranquilla, franked with 50c. diagonal half and single example, plus 3c. of the National Post, cancelled by SCADTA three-lines handstamp and large c.d.s. of Barranquilla in transit. The 45c. franking paid a weight not exceeding 60 grams according to the down river tariff for business correspondence, whereas the other 3c. covered the business rate up to 100 grams. Illustrated on page 48 of Eugenio Gebauer's handbook dedicated to the airmail of Colombia. A unique bisect usage of this stamp, being one of the four "American Woolen Products" covers, all bearing part of an SCADTA adhesive to represent a lower denomination, which were given the attribute of "the greatest find in SCADTA stamps" by Eugenio Gebauer (all are offered in this sale).
