1920, 30c. on 10c. green, featuring a hardly visible impression of the surcharge which may have faded with time, on cover front addressed to Barranquilla, tied by "Cía de Navegación/Aérea/Agencia Barranquilla" ribbon handstamp in purple, handstamped with "22 FEB 1920" date adjacent, and bearing manuscript inscription in Spanish at left: "Souvenir of the first airmail flight. Cartagena, February 21, 1920" and signature by Mr. Soto. (See also lot 1038) The cover, which is not flown, was not franked with the required national postage, and the C.C.N.A. adhesive is tied by a Barranquilla handstamp which was not applied on any of the regularly flown covers. One of just three covers recorded exhibiting the 30 centavos surcharge on this stamp. Gebauer 16.
