1920, 10c. "Flier in Plane Watching Biplane", a large margined example used on 17 October cover to Barranquilla, upfranked for the single rate with National Post 3c., both tied by "CCNA/Agencia Barranquilla" handstamp in purple and framed National Postal Agency datestamp in blue, showing "OCT 17" date. Three creases of which one passess through the vignette, without significance for this unqiue item. The pilot, Captain René Bazin, in a letter dated 18 June 1962, corroborated to have completed flights in October 1920: "During the month of October (1920) I have realized various flights over the mountains with twelve passengers". This is the only recorded cover which have survived from the flights in October -very few other vignettes on piece, exhibiting these cancellations, are also recorded (see lots 1004 & 1013)-. A very desirable gem of this issue representing a very late flight. Cert. Behr. Scott C5.
