La Pêche des Baleines. Aktie über 250 Gulden. Bruxelles, 31. Januar 1728. Nr. 270. In 1727 Emperor Karl VI granted in Brussels the concession for founding this Ostende whaling Company. Its objective was whaling in the Atlantic around Greenland and Spitsbergen. The catch was sold by auction. The Company was not very successful and was liquidated soon after. The certificates are printed on paper with a fine watermark and decorated with an engraving of a whale. Signed by five of the shareholders, including the Prince de Rubempré and the Marquis de Herzelles and Jean Baptiste Jozef de Fraula. EF.
