Partito Nazionale Fascista prestito "Casa Littoria" (5%). 5%-Obligazione da 5.000 L., Roma, 1 Aprile 1938. Nr. 005414. After the Partito Nazionale Fascista seized power, it started an initiative to create new headquarters in all major Italian towns. Normally these were called Casa del Fascio or Casa Littoria. In Rome, the PNF planned to create a national headquarters: the Casa Littoria; a nine-storey building to be located between Monte Mario and the Tiber in the area of the Foro Italico. The building was designed in 1935 by the architects Debbio, Foschini and Morpurgo, winners of the competition for ideas. In 1943, works were interrupted and then resumed in the post-war period by the Italian State. With more than 1,300 rooms and with a façade 169 meters long, it is among the largest buildings in Italy. In 1959 the building (now called Palazzo della Farnesina) was completed, with slight variations on the original design. It serves as headquarter for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic. In the centre picture of the Farnesina. EF.
