The Company was founded 1921 by Giovanni Carosio with the financial support of Italian emigrants in Argentina. In the same year the Company signed a contract with the Italian state for the construction of the first transatlantic cable between Argentina and Italy. In 1925 the cable was inaugurated. In 1941 the Company changed its name to Italcable. Since 1994 it is part of Telecom Italia SpA. EF.
