Cover (side flaps missing) from Rio de Janeiro to Basel (Switzerland) at single rate, bearing France 1862 40 c. orange, single and vertical pair, tied by anchor lozenges with corresponding "Brésil/Guienne" octagonal (Salles fig. 1.011). Adhesives with imperfections and two creases to cover, hardly detracting from this, one of fewer than five covers known originating from Brazil and addressed to a European destination other than France, bearing French stamps.
