Landlady (bao zou po) and tenement houses (tong lau) have an inseparable relationship. They are both iconic characteristics of “old Hong Kong” and are symbols of a way of life that is disappearing as buildings in Hong Kong grow taller and bigger. I used to live in tong lau with my parents when I was small, the building is long gone but I still remember those days fondly. Can’t really say I miss the bau zou po, but I definitely miss the cat i used to play with every day after school from the store downstairs.

Club Qing was founded in 2003 as a restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong. The owners subsequently turned it into one of the earliest whisky bars in Hong Kong in 2015. Club Qing offers an extensive collection of Japanese whiskies and Scotch whiskies, including some of the rarest and finest single malts ever produced. Starting from 2015, Club Qing started to bottle their own private whisky bottling and so far have released over 10 expressions exclusively for the bar and its customers.
