Distilled and bottled by The Macallan Distillery.
In original tube case.

The 1948 distilling tastes significantly different from the Macallan yet we come to know of due to a wide usage of peat in this post-war period.
The Highland peat has a milder effect on the barley compared to the strong and characteristic Islay peat, allowing the Speyside & Highland malts, though generally more smokey at the 1940s, to still be quite different from the Islay drams.
This expression of 1948 Macallan is not only a legacy of good craftsmanship, it is too a witness of the one of the world's most troubled era.
