Glenlochy Single Malt Scotch Whisky 1979. Rare Old collection. Lot no. RO/12/04. Bottled 2012 by Gordon & Macphail into 460 bottles. Scuffed back label. Original presentation carton. 46% 70cl. The Glenlochy Distillery was found in 1898 at Fort William in the Highland. The first whisky produced in 1901. A large scale of modernisation took place from the end of the 1950's after the distillery was acquired by DCL. The house was expanded and re-equipped. Most of its distills went into producing blended whiskies. Only a very finely selected 82 casks, in all these years, have been independently bottled by 8 reowned bottlers ( plus 6 casks by the distillery). Making it one of the rarest IB scotch to date. Sadly, the distillery ceased its production May 1983. The property was later bought by and converted into a guest house, and the malt barn into modern flats.
