1903 (4 Oct.) card to Belgium uprated with C.I.P. ½c. (2) and 1c. (2) cancelled by good strikes of Szemao, Yunnanfu postmark with manuscript date insertion, Tengyueh dated oval in purple and used in combination with India K.E.VII 1a. tied by Bhamo (18.12) c.d.s. with Sea Post Office (26.12) and Anvers arrival (9.1); some soiling. A rare and important card sent via the Burma route. Approximately twenty China/India combination cards have been recorded. Photo
The route was on foot via very narrow mountain paths along very deep abysses and mountain passes of + 4000m. to Burma. This card was sent by a Belgian engineer who worked on the France Railway between Hanoi and Yunnanfu.
