Bank of Taiwan, Kinmen Issue, 5 yuan, Year 38 (1949), serial number AA740598, 'hollowed Kinmen' type, (Pick R102B), PMG 30. PMG Census TOP POP, one of two graded. Due to regional unstability, a new act was inplaced in 1949 to add the 'Kinmen overprint' on existing notes. At the end, due to the large influx of military personnel in Kinmen, the lack of leftover funds has halted the transportation of these notes, and they were subsequantly destroyed. One of the scarcest issue from Taiwan along with its 1 yuan counterpart. As of 2022, less then 30 examples are known. One of the scarcest Taiwan issues out there.
