Mercantile Bank Limited, Hong Kong, specimen $500, 26.5.1959, serial number 0000. (Pick 243s), PMG 62, rust lightened. Though a later issue, the 1959 date scarcer then the 1949 as only 1000 issued notes were printed for this year, and 4000 printed by 1949. With only minor rust at lower right, still a hugely impressive note. With the scarcity of issued notes, this is a must have for any Hong Kong collectors.
