China: Northern and Southern Dynasties, group of 7 coins consisting of: Northern Dynasties:

Northern Wei (A.D.386-535): Tai He Wu Zhu, issued during the reign of Emperor Xiaowen (r.471-499),
Northern Qi (A.D.550-577): Chang Ping Wu Zhu, issued during the reign of Emperor Wenxuan (r.550-559),
Northern Zhou (A.D.557-581): Bu Quan (2), Yong Tong Wan Guo (1)

Southern Dynasties

Liang Dynasty (A.D.502-557): Wu Qian, issued during reign of Emperor Lian (r.552-555),
Chen Dynasty (A.D.557-589): Tai Huo Liu Zhu, 25.4x2.3mm, 4.2g, issued during the reign of Emperor Xuan (r.569-582),
The Tai He and Tai Huo coins both graded Zhong Qian 78, the rest very fine to extremely fine. The Northern and Southern Dynasties following the demise of the Eastern Jin Dynasty was an extremely turbulent period with frequent civil wars and political chaos and yet it was a time when arts, culture, Buddhism and Daoism flourished. China would once again be united by Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty in A.D.581. Dr.Werner Burger Collection. (7). [32, 36-38, 40]


南北朝古錢一組6枚,包括:北魏(公元386年 - 535年)孝文帝太和五銖1枚;北齊(公元550年 - 577年)文宣帝常平五銖1枚;北周(公元557年 - 581年)武帝布泉2枚,靜帝永通萬國1枚;南梁元帝五錢1枚;南陳宣帝太貨六銖1枚,25.4x2.3mm,重4.2克;太和五銖及太貨六銖中乾皆評78,其他VF至XF品相。 南北朝由公元420年劉裕代東晉建立宋開始,中華地區政治與經濟混亂,戰火連連,不過邊疆民族內遷、北方人群的南下,造成文化大交流。同時間,儒學一統的局面亦被打破,使得學術研究朝向多元化,已佛教和道教的發展也促進藝術的興盛。公元581年,具備胡漢融合文化的隋文帝楊堅代北周而立,後又拼梁滅陳,使分裂達370年之久的天下歸於一統。
