Türgesh Khaganate, a trio of cash coins, circa 716-756 A.D., Suyab / Taraz mint, the Türgesh Khaganate arose after the demise of the Western Turkic Khaganate during China's Tang Dynasty. The relationship between the Turgesh and Tang Dynasty was tied with inter-marriages and were an important force in maintaining the safety of the Silk Road. The cash coins were said to have been minted during and likely after the reign of supreme leader Suluk. Its shape was heavily influenced by Sogdian coins, which were in turn imitative of Tang Dynasty's 'Kaiyuan Tongbao', highlighting widespread Chinese economic and cultural dominance in Eurasia during the era. Obverse legend with Sogdian script, reverse struck with the bow tamga of Türgesh in the form of a Turkic Rune letter 't'. About Very Fine, a one with two small holes. A fine addition to the discerning nusmismatist (3). Dr. Werner Burger Collection.
