Banque de L'Indo Chine, 10 Dollars = 10 Piastres, proof, Shanghai, February 1901, red and black, alleogrical figures at lower border, elephants at left and right, reverse orange, Bank title and denomination in Chinese text,
(Pick S440Bp), PMG 65EPQ Gem Uncirculated. An extremely rare issue in any shape or form, this note is the only note graded by PMG at the time of writing. With vivid colours and sharp corners this note is in fabulour condition given it is over 120 years old! The Banque de L'Indo Chine was founded in 1875 to help the French Government to administer their colonial properties in South East Asia. It began its China operations in 1889 with the opening of the Canton Shameen branch followed by the Shanghai branch in 1899. As collectors of Chinese Foreign Bank banknotes are well aware both issued or specimen notes from this bank are extremely rare.


1901年東方匯理銀行10元樣鈔,上海地名,PMG 65EPQ,本版別無論流通票、樣鈔等均絕無僅有,本鈔亦為編寫本圖錄時PMG評級紀錄中唯一的一枚,原色鮮明深潤,紙角銳利,以存世120年而言實屬難得,東方匯理銀行成立於 1875 年,旨在幫助法國政府管理其在東南亞的殖民地財產,其後於1889 年開始在華開展業務,並在1899 年開設廣州沙面分行,隨後於 1899 年成立上海分行,中國外商鈔藏家應知悉此銀行不論樣鈔或流通票均一紙難求,萬勿錯過此入手良機!
