1905 (16 May) stampless envelope to St Petersburg bearing Mukden despatch c.d.s. and with St Petersburg arrival on the reverse (6.6). The Battle of Mukden was fought from late February to March ending in defeat of the Russian Army. The Mukden postmark continued to be used on their retreat and it is thought that this letter was sent along the C.E.R. line from Kungchuling onwards. Photo
