Shanghai: 1898 (5 Apr.) missionary envelope to New York bearing I.C.P. 4c. and 5c. with C.I.P. 1c. tied by Shanghai Dollar dater and used with Japan Koban 10s. brown tied by the type VII "shanghai/i.j.p.o." c.d.s. The cover was overweight, thus underpaid, and with Japan P.O. Shanghai circular tax handstamp, Chinese P.O. large "T" in red and two U.S. tax marks with a pair of 5c. Postage Due stamps cancelled in manuscript, New York and Albany (6.5) backstamps. Some faults on the reverse; an attractive combination for a taxed cover. Photo
