It began its China operations in 1889 with the opening of the Canton Shameen branch followed by the Shanghai branch in 1899. As collectors of Chinese Foreign Bank banknotes are well aware both issued or specimen notes from this bank are extremely rare, let alone the large sized $100 note in virtually pristine conditon.
