1/4c 1872-H Heaton Mint Brilliant SPECIMEN, flawless. No Proofs are considered to have been struck by the Heaton Mint in this year. Graded NGC SP 63 RB (NGC cert # 3277407-019). Only 8 specimen examples graded by NGC ranging from SP 63 to 65. PCGS reports grading one SPBN64 and one SPRB63. Very rare.
1/2c 1872-H SPECIMEN, original colour. No Proofs are considered to have been struck by the Heaton Mint in this year. NGC SP 62 BN (NGC cert # 3277407-020). Ex-Remick Collection Lot 478. 17 specimen examples graded by NGC ranging from SP 62 to 66. PCGS reports grading one SPRB 64, and one SPRB 64.
1c 1872-H Heaton Mint Brilliant SPECIMEN. Reverse inverted 180° i.e. 'Coin Axis'. No Proofs are considered to have been struck by the Heaton Mint in this year. NGC SP 63 RB (NGC cert # 3235301-016). The 1872H 1c in the Remick sale of 2006 was described as "Proof, some brilliance and obverse lustre, Good Extremely Fine". (Lot 467) sold for GBP2470 (then USD 4612). 10 specimen examples graded by NGC ranging from SP 63 to 64. PCGS reports grading four specimens ranging from SP 62 to 64.
