1875 "Rambles of a Globe Trotter" published in 1875, edited by E. K. Laird, and published by Chapman & Hall, 193 Piccadilly, London. It is the earliest book to affix photos as illustrations for travel book of around the world. It was two years later than "China and the Chinese" published by John Thomson in 1873. "Rambles of a Globe Trotter" one set in two volumes ( divided into two hardcover books). The book has replaced the traditional habit of using engraving as an illustration in the book. This is a major breakthrough in the history of publishing and printing and has extraordinary significance. There are dozens of photos in the book, 9 of which are from China and Macau, the rest are taken from all over the world, and a map of the world is also attached, and mark their journey. The author has made detailed records of the daily trips and the number of miles. The books are well preserved and there are no missing pages. Size: 33 x 15.5 x 3.2cm


1875 出版的" Rambles of a Globe Trotter" (環球遊記), 由E. K. Laird 編撰, 由倫敦 Chapman & Hall, 193 Piccadilly 出版. 是最早貼上照片作為環球旅行著作插圖的書籍. 它比約翰湯姆遜於1873年出版的"中國與中國人" 晩了两年. "環球遊記" 一套精裝两册, 書内都以照片替代了一直以來用雕版圖繪作為插圖的習慣, 這在出版及印刷史上都是重大的突破, 具有非凡的意義. 書中照片約數十枚, 當中9 枚為中國及澳門, 其餘均攝影自世界各地, 還附帶一幅世界地圖, 並標示其旅程路線, 作者並對每天的旅途見聞及行里數, 都作了詳細記錄. 書籍保存完好, 没有缺頁.
