The HongKong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, $5, specimen, 1.1.1906, without serial numbers, green and pale orange, value in orange low centre, arms at centre, junk at right, water carriers and street scene at left, manuscript signature low left, printed signature low right, value at centre and each corner, reverse red and black, bank building at centre, value at left and right (Pick 161s), PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated. The first issued notes are dated 1909, three years later than this date. It is interesting that the Bank decided to replace the older dual coloured notes as early as 1906 presumably because of counterfeiting problems. Extremely rare and a star note
