Historical records made available to Spink China show no circulation figures for the National Bank of China, Limited until March of 1895, when it stood at $358,975.
The last recorded figure for the National's note issue came in May 1911, when the circulation stood at only $24,520.
The Bank paid all its notes, and they are today of the greatest rarity.
