Postal History
1941 (31 May) registered cover Toyshan to Macau which were only 100km apart. Becaused the area surrounding Macau was occupied by Japan, this letter had to be carried to Kweilin by land, then by air to Hong Kong where it was then carried by vessel to Macau. Total franking 57.5 cents (0.5 cent overpaid obviously due to lack of appropriate adhesives) to pay single letter 8 cents, registration 24 cents and airmail surcharge 25 cents. "NOT OPENED BY CENSOR" marking applied on the front in Hong Kong, and a rare FALTA DE FIADOR ( No guarantor) marking applied on reverse in macau. A guarantor was required to collect registered item in Macau at that time. An important WWII postal history item.
