Bank of England, a pair of Bernhard forgery 20 pounds, 1934, consecutive serial number 49M 14617-8, the counterfeit notes were issued under 'Operation Bernhard' whereby the Nazi Germans forged British banknotes during 1942-45,
(Pick 337a), with toned edge or spots, very fine, 20 pounds rare.(2)
