1916-40 a group of double registered covers showing a variety of "AR" marks, with 1916 cover from Chefoo to Shanghai, 14c. franking and large letters Shanghai bilingual arrival c.d.s. on the reverse; 1920 cover from Peking to London "via Siberia" bearing 75c. franking; 1923 cover from Peiping to Shanghai bearing 25c. franking with boxed "AR"; 1928 cover from Honglok to U.S.A. with 30c. franking and unusual boxed "RR" struck in red; 1931 envelope from Shanghai to Czechoslovakia with 60c. franking and 1940 envelope from Shanghai to London with $1.50 franking with large, serif "AR".
