1948 (19 Nov.) domestic air mail cover registered from Shanghai bearing, on the reverse, 1948 $50,000 (27) cancelled by Shanghai despatch c.d.s. A good cover paying $1,350,000 for 45c. Gold Yuan. A good illustration of the confusion in rates at this time, the postage and registration was increased on this day, the old rates would have totaled 55c. whilst the new rates would have been $1.40 Gold Yuan ($4,200,000).
