The Mercantile Bank of India, $50, 1.7.1935, serial number 58029, brown on multicolour, bust of man at left, watermark of the same at right, a neat handsigned signature at bottom centre, '50' at each corner, reverse brown and green, Chinese mansion at centre,
(Pick 240a), PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated, a very fresh and original note with a tiny smudge of red ink on the bottom border of the reverse. Very rarely does this type is found in this original high grade and a must for the connoiseur. The highest grade and only note in the PMG population report with the second highest grade being a very distant PMG 35.
