1888 (?) long stampless envelope from the American Consular Service, Shanghai, China to the Collector of Customs in Detroit Bearing Honolulu, Hawaii duplex (30.8), unframed "Packet Boat" in purple, precancelled 2c. Postage Due and handstruck "Postage due 2 cents" struck in purple; with the Consular red wax seal on the reverse. 1899 (22 June) envelope with original enclosure to Fort Wayne, Indiana bearing 1894-95 5c. tied by San Francisco double oval with central "P", straight-line "paquebot" struck in purple alongside, the reverse with San Francisco c.d.s. and Fort Wayne arrival flag postmark (4.8); some age marks.
