1898-99 two envelopes from Russia to the Consul on board 'Navarin', "Hong Kong via Brindisi ou Naples" each bearing pair of 10k. tied by "6" in concentric circles, the first redirected with straight-line "chefoo" struck in purple and Russian type 2 arrival c.d.s. alongside, the reverse bearing St. Petersburg despatch (12.10), a smudged strike of Singapore to Hong Kong Marine Sorter (19.11), Hong Kong (25.11) and a light strike of Chefoo Dollar dater. The second redirected to Japan with straight-line "nagasaki" handstamp in purple and, on the reverse, St. Petersburg despatch (27.12) c.d.s., Hong Kong (14.2) and Nagasaki (20.2) c.d.s.
