1904 (Jan.) second issue 1c. stationery card (reply section) to Kyoto, uprated with C.I.P. ½c. tied by a fine strike of the double-circle "kiangnan/arsenal" postmark, with handstruck "Japan", Shanghai I.J.P.O. (6.1) c.d.s. and faint arrival, the reverse bearing Shanghai bilingual c.d.s. (7.1); the card has been slightly trimmed on one side. A scarce postmark, especially on international mail. Photo

Note: Kiangnan Arsenal was one of the two shipbuilding arsenals in Qing Dynasty, China, located at the Southern part of Shanghai. The other arsenal is Foochow Arsenal in Fukien Province.
