1889 (22 June) opened-out envelope to France bearing perf.11½ 3ca. tied by Peking seal in blue with France 25c. tied by "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s. (28.6) with a second strike alongside; the reverse bearing a fine strike of serif letter "i.g. of customs/peking" c.d.s. in blue, Customs Tientsin (22.6) and Shanghai (27.6), some French transit c.d.s. plus pair of Peace and Commerce 15c. (trimmed perfs. one side) tied by Cette a Bordeaux c.d.s. (4.8). A good cover and unusual with the apparent postage due stamps which were not required. Photo
