Frontier Bank, China, a set of 3x specimens, including 1, 5 and 10 yuan, Year 8 (1919), Tientsin, control numbers 000216, 000004, 00011,
(Pick S2535 for 1 yuan, branch unlisted for all 3x notes), all hole punched with ink, balance extremely fine. First issue from the bank when the headquarter was in modern day Ulaan Baatar even though Mongolia has already declared independence in 1911. In 1920, shortly after its establishment in 1919, the Soviet defeated the Chinese army in Ulaan Baatar which caused the bank to relocate its headquarter to Beijing. These were likely never issued due to the turbulent times. Interesting and very rare (3)
