British Municipal Council, China, 10 cents, 1.9.1939, Tientsin, serial number 003232, green, blue overprint stamp at centre, English on one side and Chinese on the other,
(Smith-Matravers - T131-1), PMG 58EPQ. British Municipal Council was the highest administrative agency within Tianjin British concession. This set of notes were said to have circulated for only 10 days as an emergency measure after a serious flood in 1939. Few examples are known.
