Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, Hong Kong, a genuine $5 note raised to $100, 1.7.1911, serial number F/S 73116, the base note is genuine but the denomination in Arabic numbers, English and Chinese have all been changed to '$100' except the 'FIVE' at centre on reverse.
(Pick 34r), PMG 12 Fine, Cancelled, Rust, Tear. Despite the alteration, it's still an extremely rare early type, and the partially altered state makes this note particularly fascinating


1911年印度新金山中國渣打銀行伍員修改至壹佰員，編號F/S 73116，PMG 12，經註銷，有撕裂及銹漬。正面的中文、英文及阿拉伯面值均由伍員修改至壹佰員，唯背面正中心英文依然維持原有的「FIVE」。二十世紀初期物價低廉，大部分港人很可能沒有接觸大面值紙幣的機會，其時有不少不法之徒會把真鈔改成更高的面額，試圖魚目混珠。1911年的印度新金山中國渣打銀行伍員現在已經是鳳毛麟角的存在，此品更是被局部更改，玩味十足，別具收藏價值
