China, Qing Dynasty, [GBCA 82] brass 1 cash, 'Kang Xi Tong Bao', 1713, Manchurian characters 'Bao Quan' (Board of Revenue) on reverse, Chinese character 'Xi' without a stroke at left (Luo Han) type, 26.4x1.2mm, weighs 4.5g, (Harthill 22.91). A sought after type, known for its golden sheen, and many believed that it has gold content, though later to be proven false. According to Burger, these were cast to commemorate Kang Xi emperor's 60th birthday
