Republic of China, Nanking Military Currency, 1 yuan, Year 1 (1912), serial number 92698, (Pick unlisted), left margin mounted on card, fine. A short lived issue from the Nanking Provincial Government cabinet and is the first banknote issued under the Republic of China rule. The provisional government only function for less than 4 months, but with the note stating the bearer will be paid after 3 months. Reverse with an image of Port Arthur (modern day Lushunkou, Dalian, China) from 1911. Property of an English Gentleman's descendent.
民國元年中華民國南京軍用鈔票壹圓,辰字第92698號,F品相,左方黏貼於卡紙上。此票是辛亥革命後南京臨時政府發行的第一種紙鈔,其歷史意義不可言喻。臨時政府雖然於四個月後遷至北京,但此票標明「三個月後兌換」。卡紙背面乃「亞瑟港」,即現今遼寧省大連市的旅順港,是北洋艦隊的軍港,被喻為「北洋第一險礙」。英國藏家後裔舊藏
