China, Qing Dynasty, Kiangsi Province, [Zhong Qian XF45] silver 50 tael sycee, (1879), stamped 'Guang Xu Wu Nian Qi Yue' (5th year of Guang Xu, 7th month of the lunar calendar), 'Wan Zai Xian' (Wan Zai County), 'Wu Shi Liang' (50 taels) and 'Jiang Liu Chun' (forged by Liu Chun), 80x84.4x56.5mm, weighs 1770.4g. A government official issue with the cuboidal shape being typical of the region. The present example has its top edges tooled, but it's still a wildly popular type among sycee collectors, with 15 official stamps and 4 circulatory stamps in total
