1907 The first edition of "Sidelights on Chinese Life", published by Kegaqn Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., Linited, London, and written by J. Macgowan. The illustrations in the book are painted by Montague Smyth, and twelve are printed in color. Each picture is tipped-in on separate page, and the other 34 pictures are in black and white; hardcover, with a gold-embossed Chinese style pattern on the cover, and gold printing on the upper edge of the book. A bookplate affixed to the inside cover. Some of inner pages have slight stains. The spine has been repaired. The book has 368 pages. Dimensions: 16.7x25.8x3.5cm
