1848 (25 Feb.) long entire letter to Albert Heard in Switzerland "Via Marseille" with several rate marks including handstruck "5", a fair strike of Crowned Paid at Hong Kong type 8 with Hong Kong c.d.s. (27.2), several transit c.d.s. and Fernea arrival (25.4). The letter is from John and Augustine Heard and are of an informal nature and includes a note suggesting that the British may punish the Chinese for their behavior "... and we may have some fun"
