1783 (31 Dec.) entire letter to London and carried privately, written by a British Naval office just prior to his departure home, in the letter he includes the details of a friend's death, "... I yesterday attended his funeral from Canton to Whampoa the place where the ships lay and where the Chinese oblige us to bury our Deceased ..."; fine, some ink doodles in the margins. A good early letter. Not illustrated
