Buckton's Post Boat: 1846 (20 Aug.) entire letter from Canton to Scotland, rated "1/-" in black ink and bearing, on the flap (which opens for display), a fine strike if the circular "buckton's post boat" struck in red, partly overstruck by Hong Kong (27.8) c.d.s., London transit and Fores arrival (4.11). A superb cover with this scarce Post Boat handstamp

It seems tho have taken a week for this letter to travel from Canton to Hong Kong; perhaps this Post Boat service was not very efficient, accounting for the few examples of this handstamp
