1879 (3 July) hand-painted envelope to Plymouth "via Brindisi" bearing 12c. (2) cancelled by "B62" with code "A" despatch at left, the reverse from H.M.S. Victor Emanuel and with Plymouth arrival (14.7). The address side features the sailor sailing home on a barrel, the mast showing the compass points and the sail holding the address; at left a small Chinese figure is shouting "via Brindisi". Part of the flap is missing and a little soiled. Not using concessionary rate and pays double the premium rate via Brindisi (1 April 1879 to 17 February 1880)
