1859 (20 Nov.) envelope and letter from Charles Whitlock in Canton to Dorset and redirected to Wimborne countersigned by the commanding officer with 1d. red tied by London "10" numeral with Salisbury c.d.s., the reverse with Hong Kong despatch and Wimborne arrival (5.2). The letter states that he was going to leave China as he had volunteered for gold digging at Frazer's River, South West Africa and gives his new address. Unusual and interesting
