British Packet via Southampton: 1865 (15 Oct.) envelope to Massachusetts bearing 4c., 12c. and 30c. vermilion tied by "B62" in black, with London Paid c.d.s. cancelled by Foreign Branch "H" obliterator and reapplied after checking (3.12), Boston Am Pkt (21.12) and "21/cents" accountancy handstamp, the despatch c.d.s. is on the reverse. An interesting three-colour franking

The postage rate was 1/10½d, or 45c., but with no odd value stamps, 46c. was required. From 2 November 1863 to 1 February 1869
