1875 (7 Aug.) manila envelope from Shanghai to France "via Brindisi" bearing uncancelled 12c. partly covered by 2c. (3) with a superb strike of unframed "insufficiently prepaid/forwarded as wholly unpaid" (Proud UP9) applied in Shanghai, a light strike of "insufficiently prepaid" (type L), unusually "G.B./1f66c" Anglo-French accountancy handstamp, "1/3" rate mark crossed through, French handstruck "20" and faint red French transit, the reverse with Shanghai despatch. Hong Kong (11.8), Paris and Falaise arrival (25.9). With the original contents. An unusual and desirable cover, apparently the only recorded example of the Shanghai instructional handstamp
