The HongKong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, pair of progressive proofs $500 cut from a unique sheet, ND (1978-83), brown and green underprint, coat of arms at left, reverse brown and multicolour, old HSBC building at left, lion head at right, printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Limited,
(Pick 189 for type), both PMG 64EPQ. Note that Bradbury Wilkinson are not known to produce remainders and these notes were cut from 'pre-final production' proofs sheets that were created for final approval from the printer and HSBC. Hence the remainder should be a proof. Exceedingly rare, a must-have for any serious collector of vintage Hong Kong banknotes. (2)
