1913 (4 Jun) envelope to Shanghai bearing on reverse "Republic of China" Statistical Dept. overprint 1c. (3) cancelled by Kirin lunar dater, with Shanghai arrival c.d.s. (9.6). Both cancellation with special year date 'Guichou', the same type of dater was traditionally used with lunar date, but in this instance the month and day slugs show the Western month and day, however, the year remains as lunar year. Very fine and rare instance of this occurrence.
